About Us
Founded in 2023, the Albion Orchestra is a London-based orchestra made up of students from the country’s top conservatories, and aims to promote and preserve British symphonic music. Following a successful inaugural concert, the orchestra quickly gained a reputation for versatility and quality, and looks forward to an exciting season.


Stone Tung
Conductor
Born in Hong Kong, 20-year-old conductor and trumpet player Stone Tung is a graduate of the Chetham’s School of Music, he is now studying at the Royal College of Music, London under Mark Calder, Jason Evans, James Fountain, Niall Keatley, Dan Newell, Kate Moore, Alan Thomas and Paul Sharp on a full scholarship supported by the Croucher Hong Kong Charitable Trust.
Former Principal Trumpet of the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra, Stone has been on tour with the orchestra to Finland, Sweden, Russia, Thailand and China. He has performed in world prestige venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Sydney Opera House, The Finlandia Hall, The St. Petersburg State Academic Capella, Turku Concert Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Bridgewater Hall amongst others. As a soloist, he toured with the orchestra to Thailand, celebrating the establishment of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok. Stone has also performed with the Orpington Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in 2022. He has worked with world-renowned musicians such as Charles Castleman, Kevin John Edusei, Edward Gregson, Franz Krager, Lio Kuokman, Mike Lovatt, Ben Palmer, Sir Antonio Pappano and Yip Wing-Sie amongst others. In addition, he has participated in masterclasses with Paul Archibald, Wim Van Hasselt, Gustav Melander and Henning Kraggerud.

Stone started studying conducting with Dr Jerome Hoberman and also counts Franz Krager and Colin Touchin as his mentors. He was appointed as the Chief Conductor of the Gustav Mahler Orchestra in 2023, and has also conducted the Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra, Royal College of Music Brass Ensemble, St Stephen’s College Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia and the Clausura Chamber Orchestra, which he founded in 2020. He has participated in a masterclass with Ben Gernon, Mark Heron, Jonathan Mann, Toby Purser, Jac Van Steen, Kenneth Woods and Luigi Gaggero, in which he conducted the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra.
